বিপথগামী সেনা সদস্যদের হাতে জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান সপরিবারে শহীদ হন। বিদেশে থাকায় তাঁর দুই মেয়ে শেখ হাসিনা ও শেখ রেহানা বেঁচে যান।
